a Novel

I was excited to read this novel based on the life of the famous author of Anne of Green Gables. MAUD Follows the life of 14 year old Lucy Maud Montgomery, an aspiring writer, this novel was set in the 1980’s . Maud was raised by her grandparents and grew up in Prince Edward Island in the small town of Cavendish. Maud has a dream of going to college and becoming a writer, but her grandparents have strong opinions about a women’s role in the world. Later in the Book Maud goes to live with her father and her life changes. This was an inspiring novel to read, on how Maud faced all the problems that came in her way and how she pushed through it and became a writer. Ms. Fishbane did a lot of research for this book, though, I did not myself loving the book, near the end the book became boring for me. I think Maud was well developed throughout the novel, and how she grew. I did not enjoy the ending, it didn’t wrap up the whole plot well. Overall I enjoyed the book, it was well written and a good plot. I would give this book 3 stars, and recommend this book to those who want to learn more about the early life of L.M Montgomery and her passions and anyone who loves Anne of Green Gables and writing.
