This is a tense, tangled web of a thriller with a great sense of atmosphere and setting--from Paris, to Mumbai, to Bombay, with a sprinkling of England and the U.S. in flashbacks. Reading this story was like untangling a pile of yarn with three strands--following each to where it overlapped with the others and untwisting as I went until I could see each strand clearly from end to end. The characters were written so realistically that I found myself relating to each one at times--often to my dismay, as I wasn't sure I could trust any of them, almost to the very end of the story--and I was a bit disappointed to learn that their stories will not have the chance to continue in a sequel.
