The Killer Angels

The Classic Novel of the Civil War
Jan 18, 2018
If you're not a civil war buff the narrative can get a little confusing especially at the beginning. Once the battle begins the novel becomes very engaging. I have a rule that when books start quoting shakespeare or the bible( which were as popular one hundred fifty years ago as they are now) I toss then into the rubbish pile, but this is one of the exceptions. Much of this books perspective is from privileged commanders educated at west point academy? The actually fighting is referred to in numbers. The men laying down their lives on the front line are a number and not much else. Who has the most bodies to sacrifice will surely be victorious.
