(BULLY) Hmmm, How to describe this book? I suppose by saying its a book of 'nots'. It's not really about basketball, race or becoming famous. Instead it's about a young black man learning how to grow up. Very well written with engaging characters that are real. I like this far more than I expected I would. I thought it was a very good coming of age book. Clearly showing the turmoil behind young men's quietness, where much goes on beneath the surface. Relevant and up to date. Happy to finally have a good basketball book, but its not all about the sport. This was definatly a sleeper hit; I'm confident boys will love it. Simple words make it easy to understand, however there is plenty of fact dropping from the smart club and friends he has. Great at outlining the pull of life. For sure a book I would recommend reading!
