"Casino" is adapted from a true story about the mob in Las Vegas. The movie starts out with a very prophetic statement by Robert De Niro as the narrator. He says "Las Vegas has become to look like Disneyland". Martin Scorsese gives us a look at the life of Sam "Ace" Rothstein played by De Niro. He will rise from a bookie to the manager of the Casino The Tangiers. He will marry Ginger McKenna played by Sharon Stone. They will have one of the rockiest marriages ever to be put on film. The movie is a great look at the inside of a casino operation. It shows the skimming of money and how casino's handle those who try an cheat at the gaming tables. It is a fascinating study of how a casino works. Few movies have such a wonderful cast and a great script to work with. The back drop of Las Vegas just makes it all the more fascinating.
