The romance in the Alice series is very different from typical YA romance. Alice's love problems center around her understanding of herself and her personal needs and preferences. There is no prince charming to save her, only imperfect teenage boys who do not always measure up to her expectations. In each book she learns to love herself and become more comfortable with her body and her changing life.
