Another flawed heroine. Well, if they weren't flawed, there wouldn't be much of a story! This one is taking off.

Did not like this book. I usually like the author

I tried to read it all but I skipped chapters and didn't feel I missed anything.

I read Chris Bohjalian's "Midwives" and loved it; thus I was very eager to read the "Flight Attendant." Alas I was very disappointed. When I read a book I need to empathize with the leading character. Here I could not empathize either with Cassie or with Elena. I felt both were rotten apples. The only reason I read the whole book is that I did not want to stop reading after I had invested some time in it. The ending I must say was unusual so might be worth persevering but if I had to do it again I wouldn't.

I've read most of Bojhalian's books and have enjoyed ALL of them. I read some of the reviews(?) of some readers and was somewhat hesitant because of their negativity and snide comments. I will no longer place any credence on the reliability of these nay sayers and stick with my initial feelings about the abilities of my favorite authors.

I liked this book but the beginning is very slow and her excessive drinking was difficult to bear. After Egypt it picks up and becomes a page turner. The ending felt rushed but is a total surprise! I would love a sequel to follow-up on Cassie.

Detestable protagonist, juvenile, implausible plot, frustratingly unsatisfying ending. All the elements that go into a taut, gripping thriller? I think not.

Although I enjoyed this book, I needed more development in the ending of the book. The ending felt rushed to me. I enjoyed the book. The premise of an alcoholic flight attendant is probably realistic and the murder in which she was implicated had interesting twists. Readable, but not my favorite Bohjalian novel.

As a retired flight attendant, I enjoyed the way the author wove the flight attendant’s duties and life-style in a way that readily supports the intriguing (and, seemingly fantastical) story line into a realistic possibility. Passengers could consider the profession more complex that what it seems. This is a read that improved with each completed chapter.

Read it to the end because I found author's detail on flight attendant life to be pretty accurate. The drinking, however, was a little bit too exagerated & the bragging by the flight attendant to other co-workers wouldn't be accurate at all. Had the focus not been so centered on the alcoholism, even though it was the basis for Cassi's overall behavior, it really didn't add as much to the story as I think the author hoped it would. The ending got a little bit confusing as to the way Cassie ended up being an informant. Seems the book dragged on & the author sped it up to finally end it all. Just like some movies that never seem to be able to find a way to end & close the door.

I thought this book sounded interesting and I liked the plot. The beginning got my interest and started in a way that was somewhat suspenseful but I thought that the beginning and ending were the best parts of the book. The in between was slow and took me awhile to get through. The language of the author is good though and he knows how to write. It kept me wanting to find out what happens.
