Doesn't make any more sense than the novel. Some brilliant imagery and some quality actors, but the plot, whatever it is, rambles all over, I didn't like that. A lot of characters just disappeared from the plot, and I was unsettled by the mix of very large actors and very small actors, this was probably deliberate as the music was also unpredictable. I expected great things from Neil Gaiman, working with names from Hannibal and Black Sails, so I am far more disappointed than I should be. Bonus points for imagination and occasional good lines, subtract them for too much sex, violence, and zombies.

Not a show for everyone, deals with dark themes and some disturbing characters. The wide array of mythologies represented are intriguing and keep you guessing throughout.

Interesting show. Never read the book so no comparison from me. No mention of the super badass Lord Thunder bird or the other big names in the list of great Gods but other than that, it's pretty interesting how the Gods are portrayed in this show. The part where the African God talked to the slaves is the best part of the whole show, for me.

Arguably the worst TV show ever produced--in any country.

Great show. I'm just amazed at how closely it follows the book.

An engaging adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel by the same name (read the book as a primer). This is the cinematic version of Great American road trip novel with elements of fantasy, mythology and American history, folklore and culture woven throughout. Pablo Schreiber is great as Mad Sweeney...even if the color of his wig/beard is off putting. Ian McShane makes for an ideal Mr. Wednesday. Ends on a cliff-hanger. Eagerly awaiting Season 2.

Awesome adaptation of the book! Neil Gaiman was heavily involved in the adaptation, which is evident in the way the show is true to the book without being literal. There’s some graphic violence as well as graphic sexuality (hetero and homo) but it is handled well. Can’t wait for season 2.

Starts out as a slasher (with some of the worst fake blood to ever drench a camera) then switches to a mystic dreamer caught in prison, then a different guy meets a demon in a bar and they have a graphic sexual scene, then Satan gets on a plane with him the day the first guy is released from prison to go to his wife' funeral. Satan offers him a job; the 6'6" leprechaun tells him not to take the job, but he does. So that was episode one. I'm done. Life is too short to deal with this nonsense.

Remember when you start to watch this program the title will be helpful to understand what is going on in the program. By the end of the third disc the plot becomes clear.. This is for the person who wants to do a little thinking.
