For any anywhere farm, here's all that you need: soil and sunshine, some water, a seed.

You might think a farm means fields, tractors, and a barnyard full of animals. But you can plant a farm anywhere you like! A box or a bucket, a boot or a pan -- almost anything can be turned into a home for green, growing things. Windows, balconies, and front steps all make wonderful spots to start. Who knows what plants you may choose to grow and who will come to see your new garden? Phyllis Root delivers a modern rhyming mantra for anyone hoping to put their green thumbs to good use, while G. Brian Karas's cheerful urban illustrations sprout from every page. After all, anywhere can be a farm -- all it takes is one small seed and someone to plant it.

Anywhere Farm is a charming book with a great message - you can grow plants wherever you live.

Lovely illustrations and ideas for hosting a "farm" just about anywhere: on a vacant lot, or in a teacup. A great read for a young gardener.

Think you need to live in the country with many acres of land to be a farmer? Well, think again.
Anyone can be a farmer! Author Phyllis Root encourages everyone, anywhere to be a farmer in her latest book "Anywhere Farm." The recipe is simple. Here's all you need: soil and sunshine, some water and a seed! And you can plant your seed in anything: a pan or a bucket, a pot or a shoe, a bin or a tin, or a window will do! This delightful picture book is filled with rhythm and rhyme and engaging illustrations by G. Brian Karas. "Anywhere Farm" fit perfectly in my 'farmers' market' storytime recently. This fun book reminds us all that a farmer lives in each of us. So what's stopping you? Dig a little hole and plant a little seed! Anyone can do it!

Would be useful to use as a classroom (early elementary or preschool) read aloud for spring and gardening. Nothing too special, but the illustrations are colorful and fun.

The title pretty much captures the theme of the book - you CAN plant a farm anywhere! Nice, rhyming text and realistic illustrations capture the possibilities and might inspire some planting activity at your house!
