Nick Lake’s ‘Satellite’ reminded me of The Martian. It had many twists and turns, overall a good book. This was my sixth Nick Lake book; most of which I have rated Good. Doctor-at-Bass-Fishing. Taylor A.

I didn't really like this book at first, It was rather confusing because I didn't know what was going on until a little while in the story. But once you get into the story it's incredibly intense and emotional. The writing is almost like a text and it gives it an interesting twist. It was very fun to read and will leave you with many questions about space and what can happen out there.

Interesting ethical questions come through as Leo discovers more about Earth and his own place there. The description in this story, whether technical or sensory, bogged me down. I would have enjoyed more character development and interaction especially with Grandpa.

Lake is one of my favorite YA authors; I find his books immerse me in whatever setting and experience he's exploring. While Satellite requires a bit of patience due to a large quantity of technical details and a type of text-speak narration, readers who share Leo's journey will be rewarded.
