Behind Jilly Coppercorn, a young and celebrated artist with plenty of charm and beauty, there's a dark secret she's trying to forget; "pull back the layers of my life" she says, "and you won't find anything at the core. Just a broken child. A hallow girl." What is this dark secret, and what about this has turned her into a self-described 'onion girl'?

Very deep and thought provoking book! Really worth reading.

Charles de Lint really makes fantasy and reality come together in a fictional US town. He combines the two with a mastery paralelled to Piers Anthony and Terry Brooks. This was my first reading of his books, and I'm hooked!
