The Dazzling Heights picks up right where The Thousandth Floor delivered the last shocking blow. This book dives deeper into the chaotic connections throughout the tower and into dangerous territory. One word to describe this book is just scandalous because there are so many crazy, gasp-worthy things happening at any time in this tower where the rich have the high level advantage but also the longest drop down.

There isn't always a right and wrong side to situations. For instance, is it truly right to fight "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?" The line between revenge and justice can be blurred and gray in situations, especially if a life is involved. Here, a handful of characters are bound by secrets to one tragic night, involving a tragic accident that they swore not to tell of. However, time only stalls the inevitable, and there is ALWAYS someone watching.... whether they like it or not.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this classy, mysterious dystopian novel. Katherine McGee made everything work out perfectly, unlike some other YA mysteries I have read, and managed to create an exquisite batch of characters unlike any I have known! Following Eris’s fall from the roof of the Tower, situated in the heart of New York and consisting of a thousand floors, all those involved have still not recovered. Leda, the one to push Eris off during a freak accident, has blackmailed everyone who witnessed the event to remain quiet. Avery, a close friend of Eris, is troubled by Leda’s threats and does all she can to obscure the relationships she has kept hidden. Watt, also in on Avery’s secret and Leda’s unwilling advisor, worries for the illegal quantum computer in his head that only Leda has ever gotten word of. Meanwhile, Rylin has already dealt with the consequences of Leda’s exposure and cannot imagine what else she knows. But while all of them change as people, two girls are not letting this go down without a fight. First there is Calliope Brown, daughter of a con artist. The duo travel to different places around the globe and con to make money, and they have always succeeded in getting what they want and moving on. But this time, things are different- because Calliope has met the same con twice. Then there is Mariel, who will do anything to avenge Eris’ death and is watching their every move. What I especially loved was that every character had their own background and own mission. Watt is planning a confession trap, Avery tries not to get caught, Leda wants to make sure her darkest secret is safe, Rylin wants to win her love back despite everything, and Calliope wants it all for free. A drama of the future where they party under the sea and live in skyscrapers, The Dazzling Heights was everything I expected and more! Rating (4.5/5)

Loved the way things moved along with old and new characters- didn't like the way it ended though. Looks like the author wants another sequel!
