I enjoyed this book. Major characters a news correspondent and a Ex-Seal are partners to take on some of the stories, in the news. They are both in danger and she relies on the Seal to help keep her safe. They have been working together for 4 years and they cover the breaking news as it happens. Keeping them hopping flights from one side of the country and back. Her editor comes up with rumors of political misconduct in the White House. He asks her to look into it and she finds evidence and rumors he is taking money from the lobbist in DC. She later finds a source that gives her more current information. She wants the story but she has to go through the CIA with this information since it involves a member of the White House and wrong doing. Like this type of book think Danielle Steele does a good job with this book.

I was disappointed in this latest Danielle Steel book. I did finish it because I thought I should! After all, I've been reading her books since the 70's! She used to have the best stories, some of them real tear-jerkers but not lately.

Since thrillers seem to be the most popular genre now Danielle Steel is trying to foray in this territory. Unfortunately it is obvious this is not her forte. The story is essentially about Alix a typical Steel superwoman, who is an awrd-winning TV reporter, her cameraman Ben, an assassinated Senator's wife Olivia, and no less a person than the Vice President of the US.
If the cast seems impressive don't let the array fool you. Steel must think we, her readers, are remarkably naive to read along and wait for the climax or shall we say anti-climax. But, since most of us are her long time followers we do.

Alix is a reporter who is willing to put her life on the line for a good story. Ben, her cameraman and ex-Navy Seal, is her protector and tries to keep her from getting hurt. When a story of vice-presidential proportions begins to unfold, is the risk worth the story? So many lives at stake but when the man has done more wrong, getting to the story is worth the risk if the story brings the man down. This story is about perseverance, dedication, love of family and friends, and life itself. "Dangerous Games" shows that no matter what happens, we have to pick ourselves up and begin to live again.

This could have been such a good book. It wasn't! Dull, boring, and predictable. Too bad.
