In the sixth mystery in the New York Times bestselling Royal Spyness series, Lady Georgiana Rannoch cannot wait to ring in the New Year--before a Christmas killer wrings another neck...

Scotland, 1933 . While her true love, Darcy O'Mara, is spending his feliz navidad tramping around South America and her mother is holed up in a tiny village called Tiddleton-under-Lovey with droll playwright Noel Coward, Georgie is quite literally stuck at Castle Rannoch thanks to a snowstorm.

It seems like a Christmas miracle when she manages to land a position as hostess to a posh holiday party in Tiddleton. The village should be like something out of A Christmas Carol , but as soon as she arrives things take a deadly turn when a neighborhood nuisance falls out of a tree. On her second day, another so-called accident results in a death--and there's yet another on her third, making Georgie wonder if there's something wicked happening in this winter wonderland...

Includes an English Christmas companion, full of holiday recipes, games, and more!

This was another extremely enjoyable addition to the Royal Spyness series -- the trademark humor and intriguing mystery are both present, and the Christmas setting, complete with lots of traditional English Christmas activities made it a fun seasonal read. Furthermore, there are FINALLY some developments in Georgie's relationship with Darcy that will make longtime series readers cheer. A perfect, light read for this time of year.

This is a very enjoyable mystery, with a clever premise. However, the book never reveals the "how" of the crimes, and given the implausibility of most of them, this does take away from the overall story.

While this is not the first one of the series, this is the first one that I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from the first page! I have always meant to try this series and wanting something fun to read over Christmas made this book a fun escape. It is chock full of clever dialogue and outrageous characters and has a lovely English slant to everything. I really enjoyed the Christmas part of the story as it portrayed all the customs that I loved since I was a child. And it is always a treat to poke fun at the Americans! I will definitely start at the beginning now and find out what's what.

This is the best book of this series so far. The plot was really clever, and I enjoyed learning about traditional British Christmas celebrations!

This is book 6 in the series and I can't wait for book 7 to be published. Loved the Christmas theme and that some of the regular characters were not included-it made for a nice change!

Another great addition to this series. A fun (well except for the murders of course) novel with lots of Britishisms and references to British traditional Christmas passtimes like caroling and hauling in the Yule Log.

absolutely loved this book, such a great read. Bowen did an amazing job establishing the setting and characters, as well as the feel of this novel, at the beginning. I was hooked after the first 10 pages!
