Psychologist Sebastian Bergman desperately needs some order in his chaotic life. He has learned that he has a daughter - and she happens to be Vanja, a respected police colleague

At the same time, Sebastian's old team in the National Crime Squad - including Vanja - is investigating a series of brutal murders. The murders remind Sebastian of Edward Hinde, a convicted serial killer he put behind bars many years ago. But Hinde is still in jail, which leads the police to believe that they might be dealing with a copycat.

Soon Sebastian is called into the investigation, and finds himself working alongside Vanja once more. But it's not long before he realises the victims are all connected to him - and that Vanja might be in imminent danger.

Terrible novel. Full of improbable scenarios. Their main character is himself completely deranged and based on this book you would think Swedes are self indulgent, bad humoured twits. I really miss Mankell and Wahloo and Swojal when I read a book like this. You can't believe newspaper reviews based on this book. Skipped many sections after giving it a decent try. Don't bother.

Normally a fan of Nordic noir but not this one. Persevered But it felt like a chore. Depressing!
