A very poorly done version of "Atkins" (even Atkins didn't get it completely right... too much emphasis on high protein - along with low carb - where emphasis must be on high fat, low carb and moderate protein).

Yes, certain Carbs should be avoided, period. All sugars, grains, legumes (including soy - an area where even Atkins blew it), and heavy starches - especially high starch tubers. But, equally important is that ALL carbohydrates have to be minimized... below 30 grams for first 2-4 weeks, and then under 50 grams of "approved list" vegetables (low carb for bulk) thereafter - some few individuals "may" maintain on levels up to the 60-70 grams carbs (max) levels, though 50 for most.
