Riley Vasquez is haunted by the brutal murder of the couple she was babysitting for.
Max Cross is suffering under the shadow of a life-altering diagnosis he doesn't dare reveal.
The last thing either of them wants is to spend a weekend away at a therapy camp alongside five other teens with "issues." But that's exactly where they are when three masked men burst in to take the group hostage.
The building has no windows. The exits are sealed shut. Their phones are gone. And their captors are on a killing spree.
Riley and Max know that if they can't get out, they'll be next--but they're about to discover that even escape doesn't equal freedom.

This book was AMAZING. After reading Kelley's Darkness Rising trilogy i thought i'd read some more of her. The Masked Truth was on the shelf at the Vernon branch and i decided to give it a try. I haven't read any crime related novels but this one was really good. There are so many things that happen in this book I wouldn't wanna give anything away. If you like thrillers, fiction, teen, romance and mental illnesses combined. Or Kelley Armstrong books in general then i suggest reading this. They're so many twists and turns you don't know whats gonna happen next!

I like Kelley Armstrong, but I found this book to be a bit predictable. Once the kids got inside, it was clear to me who the bad guys truly were, including their disguises in the real world. There were some surprise twists, but generally, this was not my favourite.

This was a really good book without any supernatural involved for Mrs. Armstrong. I enjoyed the adventure they were taken on with all the twists and turns you don't see coming. The kids agree to go to a weekend camp for help with mental illness to learn ways to cope and are instead thrust straight into their worst nightmare or something very similar to which each is already dealing with. (my heart broke for Aaron) The hero and heroine both remained strong and smart through out the book, battling past their inner demons to help each other and the rest of the kids. Another great book by Kelley Armstrong.

It's one of the best books I've read in a while. If you're looking for a books with an accurate portrayal of mental illness and strong, diverse, complex characters, then pick this one up. Support an amazing Canadian author while going on a thrilling adventure.

This is a bit different from most of Armstrong's work (not even a hint of anything supernatural), but it's brilliant. You'll really want to root for Riley and Max both to get out of danger and to give a potential relationship a shot.
