I love this book. I didn't read all of the book. I liked the recipes. I tried Anything Goes Soup and the fried rice recipe. I like them both. I use the fried rice recipe a lot, and both those recipes are very versatile in terms of being a formula to choose some of your own ingredients. The soup takes longer than the fried rice, so I fell out of habit of making it. However, the recipe works well. I liked the food storage information at the back of the book, which includes storage guidelines and ideas on how to use up individual food items. I liked the list of what you can and cannot feed dogs in terms of food scraps. It also says that treats should not exceed 5% of their diet. However, it didn't mention one restriction that I found in my research online. Otherwise, this book is so useful!

Perfect introduction to waste reduction and food management. I read both this one and My Zero-Waste Kitchen (meh). I would drive straight into this book and then progress to a book titled "Food D.I.Y."

I will be rearranging my refrigerator shortly to follow the Waste-Free Kitchen Handbook suggestions. Maybe this will help with multiple jars of dill pickles or mustard being opened. And I must get a magnetic whiteboard for the fridge front to track items that need to be used so they won’t become a science experiment. This book is full of colorful charts that explain what should go where to take advantage of the colder areas of the appliance.

Know most of this stuff already but it'd be great for someone who didn't.

Great read as an introduction to the topic of waste, but too simple if you are already practicing basics.
