Rufus the Pig wanted to go to sea and lead the exciting, adventurous life of a pirate! He assembled his lunchbox, backpack and his favourite blanket, and took a taxi to the waterfront, where there was a sign tacked to one of the ships: "Pyrate waunted!"
But when Rufus tried to apply, he was told that no pigs were allowed on the pirate ship.
Undeterred, Rufus tried unsuccessfully again ... and again ... until the captain found out that he knew how to read. Then Rufus was allowed to join the pirates, and one of his most important duties was to help the pirates read their treasure maps.
And when Rufus taught the other pirates to read, they were able to "uncover" a brand new type of treasure: stories!
This book will be enjoyed by all who enjoy stories about pirates, pigs and fun stories!
