An interestingly paced drama with a suspensful feeling. You never know what is going to happen.

James Galdofini gives a great performance as well in what is unfortunately one of his last motion pictures.

Dark, depressing, tense, and ultimately excellent. Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini are excellent.

I picked this up of the shelf because it had Tom hardy in it. I was pleasantly surprised. Great crime drama with a good twist at the end. James Gandolfino and Noomi Rapace are a match for Hardy.

An outstanding crime drama with great script and strong cast. There's no shortage of reality and no usual pattern of Hollywood commercial flicks. All the actors including the dog deliver their best.

One of my favorites of Tom Hardy movies. Superb acting of all actors and the dog is just adorable. This is somewhat a semi, small town mob story but mostly the story of Bob who, quiet and lonely but VERY smart, whose heart opens to a puppy and a nice gal.

I was no surprisingly impressed with this movie. It was so predictable and even if you don't know what the next scene will be it doesn't matter. Is any bar not depressing with its routine of set 'em up and drink 'em down? Does anyone need another crime film with shots to the head and bad guys looking for some victim? I wouldn't want anything to do with Naomi Rapace.

Very slow start but picks up in the end. Ending was a surprise.

Tom Hardy is superb in this dark, gloomy, graphic and brutal film. He has proved himself to be as versatile and deep an actor as Russell Crowe and Clive Owen. See him in "Locke" and "Child 44" for proof.

Matthias Schoenaerts is also good but see him in "Rust and Bone" for a better characterization.

Cleverly written and sometimes gruesomely funny. Music is perfectly done by Marco Beltrami.

Best line: "Guy gets a dog, he becomes a pussy man."

Gritty movie but nothing new. Each year this plot gets recycled and the only way to sell is bigger names. Let's be honest they said Gandolfini gained 50 pounds but he looks the same to me. Didn't Rooma already play that same character? Hardy is underrated.

Good collection of quotes in IMDb as these:

Bob: [on looking after his new puppy] I mean, it's a huge responsibility, right?
Cousin Marv: Well, it's a dog. It's not like some long lost retarded relative shows up at your door in a wheelchair and a colostomy bag hanging out of his ass. Says "I'm yours now. Take care of me." It's not that. It's a dog.

Bob: I shot him in the face, twice. Then I wrapped his head in a towel, and I stabbed him in the chest in his heart, so he would bleed out, and I put him in my bathtub and watched him drain. Then I put him in an oil tank with laundry detergent and lye, and I sealed it back up.
