What if all your life, you had your parents plan everything out? What if they basically arranged your marriage with the child of their close friend at birth? Wouldn't that be a bit frustrating? So meet the pair of star-crossed lovers, who in reality, dislike each other with a passion. When Jemma and Ryder are forced to spend time with each other due to a natural disaster, they discover a lot more than food and shelter. I really liked how different this book was from others I've read. You have a Southern girl who doesn't fit into any cliché groups, and a guy who is very genuine and sincere. Definitely a ship right here. At times I would be so frustrated at them because they wouldn't accept who they were, but I'm glad at how the book ended.

This book is the reverse of the classic “Romeo and Juliet” story by Shakespeare. Jemma does not want to be with Ryder, despite them being paired together by their moms since birth! She thinks he is “holier than though” and he seems to think she is snobby. A romance sprinkled with southern charm and pride.
