This is a promising start to what I hope is a new mystery series. As someone who has a rather sensitive sense of smell, I was delighted to read about Joan, whose sense of smell is even more sensitive than mine. I liked that it is set in British Columbia and that the central characters are people who were misfits in their high school days. I did, however, suspect the correct person long before the characters in the story did, which was a bit of a disappointment to me. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to more books from Glynis Whiting.
