Wonderful story told from a child's perspective. Beautifully poetic and imaginative. Sci-fi, horro and fantasy all wrapped into one. A great read for anyone who appreciates an active imagination.

An excellent Gothic mystery and love story. Two teens of Barcelona discover within its ancient alleyways a story of love, betrayal and the pursuit to thwart mother nature at great cost to those involved.

Great read! Creative use of a common creature with an incredible application to save a romance that transcends time.

It was so enjoyable to jump into Carlos Ruiz Zafon's imagination. As with his Cemetery of Forgotten books cycle, he brings Barcelona to life.

This is a spooky romance - I highly recommend for a summer read that will haunt your dreams. Makes me want to visit Barcelona.

"Marina" catches you in its web and holds on until the end- I couldn't put it down!

It has some horror in it- there were scenes that made me look up and make sure that no one was in my room with me. But these scenes are tempered by the main character, Oscar, who searches without fear for the answers to the mysteries he discovers.

Heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Shrouded woman. Black butterfly. Red Rose. Tombstone with no name. Why?

a gothic tale set in the back alleys of Barcelona. Intriguing with numerous twists in the plot , not enough to get confusing, more to draw one into the underworld of darkness, revenge, love lost and leave you at the end actually feeling a degree of sympathy for some of the characters.
