I finished this book quickly. It had a great message about how God works in our lives, but I agree that the modern day portion seemed a bit forced.

This is Cambron's debut novel - very moving. It's about having faith in God in difficult times.

When art dealer Sera James glimpsed a haunting portrait as a young girl, she never forgot it. Trying to work out recent hurts and disappointments in her life, she begins searching for the portrait and the story it might tell. This book has a powerful message and my heart was saddened as the story from the past unfolded. Yet, it does have a message of hope. The romance elements in the story sometimes seemed forced and out-of-place to me, but overall I thought the book was very good.
