Rachel Watts has just moved to Melbourne and James Mycroft is her neighbour, an intriguing and troubled seventeen-year-old genius with a passion for forensics. Despite her misgivings, Rachel finds herself unable to resist Mycroft when he wants her help investigating a murder. And when Watts and Mycroft follow a trail to the cold-blooded killer, they find themselves in the lion's den - literally. A night at the zoo will never have quite the same meaning again.

Fantastic novel! Characters are well developed and there is a great mixture of romance, mystery, and simple growing pains of teenagers turning into adults. Sometimes fast paced, sometimes slow-paced, but there's almost something of consequence happening, which is something I don't always see in novels I read.

Sometimes exciting, sometimes sweet, this book was a great start to a new series. Yeah, I could guess who the villain was well before the end, but it didn't matter that much. There was enough else going on that I was still really into it.
