‘Visitors’ - Book 3 sequel to Book 1- ‘Pathfinder’ (2010) and Book 2 - ‘Ruins’ (2012) – like many of Orson Scott Card’s books, complicated but excellent. I have read twelve of Card’s books and I have rated all but one as excellent. Doctor-at-Bass! Taylor A.

What a messy, unsatisfying plot which seems to be tying up lose ends from previous book. A few interesting relationship developments but the whole story disintegrated when there were so many copies of the heroes and a quick kill off of the planet which originally destroyed Garden and Earth in a different time line. Waste of my reading time. Scott-Card is off my list of authors.

The 598 pages are a bit disappointing, and for all the adventures along the space-time/ cause-effect continuum, the clearest, and I believe only, explanation is on page 561:"The calendar and the clock keep a single line of time," said Noxon. "But with us, causality jumps all over the place. We're here before the invasion, by the calendar, but we're here after the invasion, by the causal chain. Their invasion is what caused us to come, so by cause-and-effect, the invasion was first." Headache, anyone? Root for the mice.
