That Emma Roberts--amazing. Nice story, fun, novel, and Cusack is a great curmudgeonly poetry "mentor." Well worth a look--Fun!!

Not worth taking out though perhaps it is representative of the real world, just not mine.

Amazing writing with colorful characters, good soundtrack and flawless performance by Emma Roberts as a budding poet whose prime objective in her young life was to become famous.

I found it to be wholly original and delightfully humorous.

IFC continues to present the better movies among it's Indie peers.

I didn't think that this would be my cup of tea. But with John Cusack in it, I thought that it might be something worth watching...it wasn't.

Mother: But are you happy?
Amy: Mother, an artist's life...it really is a life of solitude.

Amy: it's not like this is a career. It's a stupid job in a stupid place.
Alex: This place is how Stan and Mary Anne make their living. It's how I make my living. And it really pisses me off that you think that you're better than that.
===
Amy: Alex, I'm sorry. I am not too good to work here, and I didn't mean any of those things that I said. I'm not better than this, and I don't think working here is for losers...

Amy: I thought truth was subjective.
Rat: No, it's not subjective. Not everybody can grow up to be Beyoncé or the president. Not everybody's talented, okay? And fame doesn't mean shit.
Amy, if everything was great,
nothing would be great. Nothing would be special.
Amy: I am special! I got straight As! I scored in the 97th percentile on my SATs! Thank you very much!
Raat: The SATs don't mean shit. That's like believing in Scientology.

Rat: Fame's your generation's
black plague, kid.
Amy: That's really good.
Who said that?
Rat: I did just now, me.

Rat: How do you feel about failure as a concept? 'Cause, you know, all the best people are failures these days.
Amy: I failed many times.
Rat: That's good. Continue to fail. Beckett said, "If you want
to make art, you have to fail." And so the artist's job is to fail better.
Amy: Fail better
Rat: Yeah.
Amy: You should make T-shirts.
