If you're a fan of scientific absurdities and heavy breathing -- the hallmark and high point of Bullock's acting in this film -- you'll like "Gravity." If you like sci-fi films that aren't an insult to your intelligence, you won't.

This drama/science fiction film shows Dr. Stone, who is an engineer on her first mission in space. While doing a normal space walk, disaster strikes and their shuttle is completely destroyed. She is left alone floating in space unsure of what to do next in order to survive. Sandra Bullock has an amazing performance in this film as she essentially is working alone, and makes it very believable that she is really floating away in space. The movie is full of suspense and thrill as you wonder whether or not she will make it. I would rate this movie 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to anyone interested in space. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library

The concept is absolutely silly! An astronaut who can't handle space? Doesn't even like it? Worse yet, she's incapable of making ONE right decision this entire movie. It's very unrealistic and plays upon the edge of your seat rather than reason! I wouldn't recommend this movie, you have plenty of other decent and better ones than this. Hell, even "Alien" is more realistic than this.

Very entertaining kept me at the edge of my seat worth watching a good movie about space.

It's true this is a movie heavily created by CGI/technology, but the effects are dazzling and add much to a science fiction adventure in space. Sandra Bullock does an amazing job as a doctor, a crew specialist who's not an astronaut by training, yet manages to pull herself together even after trauma and agonizingly slow space walks to reach debris-battered Russian/Chinese pods. George Clooney plays the hotshot astronaut captain who figures out how to literally and figuratively talk her down. Blessedly, too, there's not New Age, alien, or mystical gooeyness--just the beauty of space, the Earth, and people's friendships as part of the larger universe.

Hollywood would have us believe that people just fly around practising their jet pack moves all the time in space. If you're completely ignorant of space protocols, then this film might be entertaining, but if you've done any reading or watched any actual space video then you'll be entertained and be annoyed at the same time.

For me, a rare big-screen experience--actually paid to see this in a movie theatre.
My mistake. Ho-hum. Subtitle: MOVIE STARS...IN...SPACE!!

Really, folks: George Clooney and Sandra Bullock? C'mon. Know what "suspension of disbelief" means? You're gonna need plenty with this one...suspended waaayyy up in space. Not too far, at that: just to the orbiting space station (see what I mean about ho-hum?)

Wanna see the real deal? Borrow a sci fi movie "Sunshine" from the screenwriter who later directed Ex Machine (one of the best sci-fi flicks of the decade) and the director who gave us 28 Days Later and Slumdog Millionaire.

Sunshine: Better story. More suspense. Effects at least as good--likely better--than Gravity's.

Sandra Bullock is fantastic, George Clooney is about as good as he usually is. The plot is okay, and the effects are fantastic.

The story was enjoyable and took unexpected turns . The views were pretty spectacular. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney did a good job as astronomers. Does contain both profanity and language. Not highly recommended.

Gravity was an okay movie, with a sound storyline and good actors. However, I felt like the storyline was a little bit dull, with not many effects or heart stopping moments, but it was still good and I feel like this would have been an amazing movie to watch in the cinemas because of its scenery.

At 600KM above planet Earth the temperature fluctuates between +258 and -148 degrees Fahrenheit. There is nothing to carry sound. No air pressure. No oxygen. Life in space is impossible.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Crew mates are killed, one with a lingering face shot; spaceship shrapnel has a deadly set trajectory; psychological terror scenes of isolation/running out of oxygen/language barriers.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Contains brief detailed violent images.

Coarse Language: Says: the "f" and "s" word, and takes Our LORD's name in vain a few times.
