This show is so cool. Probably one of the best series I've watched.

For those slamming Lucia, "The actress that plays violinist Annie", is really a violinist that is playing Annie.
She is a musician first and foremost .
Great to see casting based on music ability.

It grows on you. Absolutely love the music, the vision to showcase New Orleans musicians and the all-encompassing corruption and brutality post-Katrina. Definitely the successor to David Simon's The Wire. Totally fascinating. Each season is better.

The beauty and truth continue in this un-tv show. The feminine is back here and in all the universes (whatever concepts one needs). All hail cable and this reversal of the ‘male-dominated Matrix” media! Love lives and is a tv show. The ratings can’t be good, but that’s good; get it? Mountain AND Valley, now, not valley only. You dig? PPPPP The music wasn’t as good this season; it seems they are searching out obscure groups they hadn’t got to previously. Or, they focused on Annie the violinist and her countryish hybridization way way too much. She isn’t that good. She’s pretty straight. Maybe they got caught up in the fact that she acts also (a premium for the producers for some reason). She made up at least half the music, a real shame compared to the first 2 seasons. Doesn’t matter, this show is a beautiful thing. PPPPP I’d love to see David Morse star in his own cable show, possibly as an alternative healer who is on the verge of overt conscious magic and the consequent emotional changes he and those around him have to deal with.

The third season of Treme takes place years after Hurricane Katrina devastated NOLA. The main characters all have ups and downs throughout the season. There is a major emphasis on the music because several of the characters are part of the jazz scene. Other highlights include the opening of a new restaurant by Chef Janette Desautel as well as progress and intimidation related to the investigations into several murders committed by the police during Hurricane Katrina. Overall the third season is somewhat depressing but the acting and entertainment is excellent.
