Just a few things that escalated really quickly: the tension, the violence, the romance (sort of), and my interest. Here, things got darker as two other sirens get anxiously devoted to killing off one of the protagonists and replacing her with another girl. Geez that sounds fabulous. So now, this book is basically about the struggles of the sisters with help, trying to combat the rather violent sirens that are more ancient than, well, themselves. Naturally, they go and dig up some stuff, and their story coincides with memories of the girls and their stories, of past memories they may or may not want to remember.

I think this book deserve a 4 stars because, while it took the story a little bit to pick up speed, it was still really good, much better than the first one, at least. So much was explained and developed in this book. I really liked it, especially with the backstory that was explained with Thea. I felt so bad for her! She is my favorite siren

I enjoyed reading about the backstories of the other girls, but I did not feel it moved the overall story along fast enough. A great deal more violence in this book than the others too. Hoping Elegy will live up to the title and end the series before it runs its plot into the ground.

A great continuation of the story, but leaves so many questions about what will happen amongst the characters, both old and new. It was good to see some of the earlier storyline of the other girls. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Tidal was by far the most exciting (in my opinion) book of the series so far. I am really excited for Elegy!

Basically Penn finds a replacement named Liv. She picks her because she is a wannabe and will do whatever they say. Gemma and Harper find out there is a magic Scroll that sort of explains the curse (in detail. Like a contract). She tries to find it but never does. Once the other Sirens find out she's looking for it, Lexi (after protesting that they should kill Gemma now and get it over with) is sent to get the Scroll. All we really know is it had something to do with Penn's Dad (which Lexi told Gemma by accident earlier before she left). Penn tries to get Daniel to fall in love with her, but he continues to refuse. This is one of the reasons Penn does not want to leave. Because Daniel reminds her of a 1741 boyfriend whom secretly cheated on her with Thea. But Gia took the fall for Thea. In the end this is why they got Lexi. Then when Lexi returns and tries to kill Gemma and Daniel (because of him she has been trapped in Capri), Penn kills Lexi. The story ends with Thea giving Gemma the scroll. Next book is called Elegy.

“Nope. I'm just going to a bookstore,' Gemma replied. 'How dangerous could that be?
