It's a race to the throne this season! With so many vying for the royal title as king (or queen) of all the kingdoms, the cast seemed to grow exponentially. This second season starts off from where the first season ended. The wicked games are played. Some choose the high road and others are so sneaky and underhanded that they're taking the sewers beneath the low road. My choice for the throne would be the Khaleesi of the Dothraki, Daenerys; but frankly, nearly anyone is better than Joffrey Baratheon (or is it Lannister?) at this point. Will the tyrannical immature king be dethroned? Quite frankly, this season was delightful owing to the superb acting of Peter Dinklage who plays Tyrion Lannister (or the Half-Man or the Imp or the Demon Monkey or any other of his countless nicknames). To me, he was fantastic, a perfect medium between the get-up-and-go required to accomplish anything in King's Landing and the softness and sensitivity required to be a benevolent soul in a world of brutality and war. Gotta love him! Overall, with everyone flung across the map, this was a season of both growth and deterioration for its respective characters, a truly thrilling scramble for the crown. I'd highly recommend this and the first season of GAME OF THRONES.

Incredible yet again.

I found the second season as captivating as season one. Season two though introduces a bit more of the magical/mystical flare. I have learned not to get too attached to any characters as the author doesn't mind killing them off. Worth watching.

The bad: the plot's turned into a soap opera, with a certain amount of pandering to the lowest common denominator. The good: so much! Acting, music, great variety of scenery and costumes and sets, characters you love to hate, characters you want to be, mysterious new characters, and some really memorable moments and quotable lines. Ep 2. commentary made me laugh.
