Cat lovers will laugh out loud at the quirkiness of their feline friends with these insightful and curious poems from the singular minds of housecats. In this hilarious book of tongue-in-cheek poetry, the author of the internationally syndicated comic strip Sally Forth helps cats unlock their creative potential and explain their odd behavior to ignorant humans. With titles like "Who Is That on Your Lap?," "This Is My Chair," "Kneel Before Me," "Nudge," and "Some of My Best Friends Are Dogs," the poems collected in I Could Pee on This perfectly capture the inner workings of the cat psyche. With photos of the cat authors throughout, this whimsical volume reveals kitties at their wackiest, and most exasperating (but always lovable).

I just loved this book. Every one of the snippets is true even when they appear to contradict another. That is, after all, the cat. The title is perfect. We have a problem cat that truly thinks this way. I love him because he's wondrously funny and sweet (except to his poor sister) but I've learned over the years that you can, at times, read his mind and know when he's thinking "I could pee on this."

In my humble opinion, this is the only book of poetry worth reading.

This book is really funny. It has real photos of cats and silly poems. I think everyone will like this book. Review by Emma Ihly.

This is a really fourth-rate book. A pathetic example of the moronic times we live in.

One of the best books on cat behavior ever ;)

So good, I reread it several times and then bought my own copy. If you don't laugh so hard you cry, this book is not for you, or you hate cats. / Available as an ebook from the Electronic Library (NBPLS)

This short collection of poems is all written from a cat's point of view. It is divided into four chapters: family, work, play, and existence. and the poems are all amusing and spot on. The author really gets into a cats head for these. I could see my cat and others I know in these verses. Light-hearted and fun, a good choice for any cat lover.

This tiny book is full of funny quips about cat behavior and psychology. The pictures make it even better. To make it even more entertaining, try some dramatic readings with your friends.

Adorable. While I can see how these are (I think) meant to be funny, I found them to be more poignant than anything else. I may be reading way too much into these little snippets, but some of them (like “Why Are You Screaming”) almost left me teary-eyed. A must for any cat—or poetry—aficionado.

Finally a comprehensive look at what cats really think! There is a very compelling poem on why the dog might not truly be man's best friend. Once you read this, you will have a whole new respect for cats.

In ancient Egypt / We cats were gods / We ruled the heavens / We reigned on earth / So kneel before me / I said come to me / Uh, listen to me / How about just a treat then? / Okay, maybe a toy / Some crumpled paper would do / I’m not picky

You can’t grasp for glory / from your chair / You can’t seize life / thinking only of loss / And you can’t grab a laser pointer dot / on the wall / No matter how much you try
