Was a good read. Started out a bit hard to follow, as many events had to come together, but then it really held my interest... I like the addition of a Sherlock having a spouse who has similar-thinking such that she can assist him.

I am not quite as fond of this book as of the others by Ms. King. I am probably too much a conservative to appreciate the extended family but the story was okay.

I liked that the 2 main characters were apart during most of the book. It was fun to see Russell in a fast-moving action part rather than her living in her head as she so often does in these books. I loved the "green man" part, and hope King puts him in a future book. Adored Holmes' granddaughter, of course.

sequel to Language of Bees, didn't know that when I started it, read OK anyway in an interesting flashback / figure it out by telling the story style. loved the "green man" in the woods character, hope he appears in future books but doubt it.

I always enjoyed this series, featuring Sherlock Holmes and his young wife, Mary Russell--yes, I said wife! This is the 2nd book in a 2 part adventure. Interesting reading, but I really felt that the loose ends might have been tidied up in the first part and this really didn't need to be written at all. Still, I'll be looking forward to the next in the series as I enjoy the characters and Laurie R. King immensely.

I enjoyed this story, it was fast moving with twists and turns along the way. The villian and climax were a little lightweight though but all in all a fun and easy read.

Convoluted. Some you can identify as good guys or bad guys, but several could be either. Not a book to put down before you are finished.

Yet another great story of Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes!

Once again, the characters are so full and likeable that even when the book is put down you find yourself thinking "I wonder what they're doing now...."?
Excellent pace and plotting, and leaves you wanting more.
