Patronizing anecdotal drivel. Affirmative statements, Wikipedia-level science and borrowed metaphors feigning profundity. A marketing tool to sell other texts, seminars and lectures. Pseudoscience. Deepest contempt for the writer.

Lots of information about different types of brain integration explained in lay terms. Lots of case studies to show how the scientific information is applied. I've seen Dan Siegel in person and heard him lecture. He's a fantastic and engaging science brain!

A very interesting book that is well written and informative, without being overly technical. The case studies were insightful as well as practical in providing some clearer understanding of how our brain works, how it can thwart our conscious thought processes and more importantly how we can take corrective action.

The author explained and gave some psychological concepts and demonstrating cases in patients with mental disturbance.

As a reader who is seeking interesting facts about how mind works, I gained some knowledge of the circuits and information processing flow of the brain but felt many description of the cases is lengthy and unnecessary while understand that the author was trying to make the science-telling more vivid and interesting. The book's word counts could be reduced to at least half to make the point more concise and efficient.
