Violence: Some images might not be suitable for younger ages: a girl gets killed by tracker jackers and is all puffed up (it is really gross)
Frightening or Intense Scenes: Painful wounds and the threat of deadly peril are constants in this movie. The girl stung by the tracker jackers and the dying twelve year old are particularly upsetting.

In the Distant Future lies the ruins of North America. What remains of North America is called Panem, home to the Capitol and all it's 12 districts. Dating back to the Dark Days where the Rebels tried to take over, the Capitol "maintains" control over the districts by forcing their districts to choose 1 boy and 1 girl to participate in the Capitol's Annual Hunger Games. The hunger games is a televised arena death match that airs live on TV. There can only be 1 victor in the Hunger Games.
