A great action movie with the great action heroes of old. Really, who caries about plot when you just want to watch the "old" guys do it so much better than the new ones!??

WHY CAN'T HOLLYWOOD MAKE A GOOD ACTION MOVIE W/O ALL THE VULGAR LANGUAGE???
I LOVE ACTION MOVIES, BUT HATE THE CUSSING AND SEX AND NUDITY.

Lines that should've been in this movie but weren't: "What do you expect, we're expendable." "Who you calling expendable?" "Expendables ride!" "What's up with your face Mickey Rourke?"
If you like your action movies big and dumb, well, it doesn't get much bigger and dumber (outside of a Michael Bay). Sylvester Stallone turns the series into a kind of active retirement community for washed up action stars, including Jet Li (woefully underused), Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, a bunch of wrestlers, Eric Roberts, and Bruce Willis. The plot. . .wait, you don't care about the plot. "The Expendables" does deliver over the top, bloody, kill 'em all action. We never learn why they came together, how you contact them (Are they like the A-Team), where the name came from, and, again, what happened to Mickey Rourke's face, which deserves its own subplot. Eric Roberts, as a slimy ex-CIA agent, gives the best performance. Despite the title, they made 2 sequels. "I guess we're not so expendable after all, huh?"

Utterly silly shooting sequences make this a fantastic escapist action film. Go with the flow and suspend belief, and you just may like it, too.

Lots of action and over-the-top violence. I do enjoy watching martial arts stunes by Jason Stetham and Jet Li.

I recommend this movie trilogy to adults. The Expendables are the main characters. There is non-stop violence. This movie is not good for children. For adults, it will be fast moving with lots of action. The script is the informal military group that goes in for US CIA/FBI when they can't send it the regular military. In the script the characters are shallow. The story is weak. If you like things blowing up, lots of gunfire, martial arts battles you will love this movie.

If you like shoot-em-ups then this one is for you. It's also filled with lots of good action actors.

So the husband says he wants to see Expendables 1 & 2 so I rented them...BAD idea. I should have stopped at the first one, but the masochist inside me says, perhaps the second one is better. For the love of god, please take my advise and NEVER see either movie.

2 hours of your life is a terrible thing to waste on mindless macho crap like this. The only good things about this turkey are that Eric Roberts is aging well, Dolph Lundgren is still a Double gorgeous Hunk, and the rock and roll songs are old favorites. They must have written this for 12 year old boys and even intelligent 12 year old boys would probably get bored and push the fast forward button most of the way through. Even worse, I'm now committed to going to see the Expendables 3 with a friend who got free tickets, and I dread it.
