A very well narrated audiobook. One of the characters - the old ex-girlfriend - was exceptionally annoying (Don't you get it?!, What don't you understand?!) because she thinks that people ought to be able to read her mind (a common manipulation technique among females). The most interesting parts of the book are the reflections and essay-istic parts relating to memory, youth, old age, change, regret, and equanimity, which are given in little bits that develop as the story progresses. Certainly well worth re-reading (or re-listening) and reflecting upon.

** stars. A philosophical analysis of suicide, the ablility of people to gain insight, and the effects of thoughtless anger. A bit too much navel gazing, but the end redeems the book and really leaves you thinking.

This book kept me going till the end. Very well written book. Each sentence was chosen and written tastefully. The end of the story was remarkable and totally unexpected. I have to listen to last chapter 2 times to understand the total impact of the story. This is not very long book and contains on only 4 discs. I would recommend this book to anyone.

This was a wonderfully written tale that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know more about each of the main characters. The story is told from the point of view of Tony about a girlfriend, his friends and a traumatic event in their lives. But because we can only see what Tony sees and only understand what he understands, nothing is quite what it seems. But I liked trying to figure out what happened. I had so many unanswered questions when I finished this book that I know I will enjoy re-reading it to try to get more insight. And I will definitely be reading more from this author.
