I do not recommend this book for younger kids because of what it is about. It is an OK book. I liked the excitement of what is going to happen next and how it explains the lifestyle of Bolivia. It was a bit sad though but still good.

Really loved the Parvana's Journey series but couldn't get into this book. Maybe I was just stunned by what I thought the book would be about. Nonetheless, thought provoking, and inspires you to take action against the hurt in developing countries.

Contrary to twoey's opinion on this book, I thought that the cocalero novels were by far Ellis's finest and most gripping work. As a matter of fact, I was so absorbed in this book that I could not put it down, and I finished it in two days.
But I'm interested to know, twoey, what you thought the book was going to be about.

Another hit from Deborah Ellis. If you haven't read her trilogy about afghanistan starting with The Breadwinner, Parvana's journey and Mud City, you're in for a treat.
