* My favorite Star Wars book!

* In this book, Leia leads our intrepid heroes back to Tatooine on a secret mission for the New Republic. During the course of the mission, she does everything I that look for in Leia-centered books: she has exciting adventures, she enjoys romantic moments with Han, and she grows as a character.

* Shmi Skywalker gets character development, too. While on Tatooine Leia views entries in a video diary that belonged to Shmi. Leia thus learns about her grandmother's life, and so do we.

* There is laugh-out-loud humor from C-3PO.

* The edition I read has bonus materials, including a novellette about Chewbacca.

I enjoyed that Denning was trying to mix the Prequel Era with the Classic Era. It worked out well. However, the story didn't have to be that long. I almost forgot what Han and Leia were looking for with all the detours they made in the story. There were some unnecessary parts the author could have left out, but other than that, it was an enjoyable book. (I absolutely love the cover).

Just like the films: full of action and one-liners. An enjoyable read for any Star Wars expanded universe fan. MB
