With a table of contents, index, glossary, Fun Facts section and a bibliography that includes both print and internet (www.factsurfer.com) resources, this 32-page book is a good choice for school research reports for students in grades 3-5. It may also be of interest to younger or older readers who simply want to learn about Argentina. Photos, maps, graphs, and a clear, simple text font make it visually appealing. For a more in-depth introduction to Argentinian history for the same age group, look for Michael Burgan's "Argentina" (a "True Book," c1999).
Some readers may wonder why Argentinian schools run from March through December. Nowhere does the book explain that, because Argentina is in the Southern hemisphere, it is summer there when it is winter here (U.S.), and vice versa.
