The ending of I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean was unsettling for my 4 year old and I instantly regretted reading it to her. It's intended to be funny but if you have a child who has experienced the death of pets then it might be hard for them to take the ending lightly. I usually screen books before reading them to her but this one looked so adorable that I really didn't think it would be necessary. My previous review appears (from my end) to have been removed so apologies if there ends up being 2 from me.

This is a delightful book to read during story time. Preschoolers really enjoy naming all of the sea creatures that Giant Squid meets as well as letting me know which creatures are bigger or smaller. I've lost count of the times kids have asked me to read this book more than once!

Super fun story for ages 3 and up with wonderful illustrations and humor. It works well as a concept book (big/small) and ocean animal identification. It would be fun to pair with other stories like Margaret Read MacDonald's "Fat Cat".

In this, very funny, book, a giant squid brags about how big he is until he eaten by a whale. But even that doesn't get him down! A great book for teaching about size, or just for having fun and reading aloud.

Hilarious book! The giant squid can't help comparing his awesome size to other life in the ocean. The message in the story could be something like: "Being the biggest or the best is always relative to your surroundings. Appreciate what you are." Appropriate for all ages, especially kids 4 to 7.

A great little board book that could be used to emphasize the concept of opposites.
