"The scientific community had surmised that Planet 51 was uninhabited, so when Captain Baker steps out of his spacecraft to discover a race of tiny green people living in quaint communities reminiscent of 1950s America, he can't quite believe his eyes. Unfortunately, the tiny extraterrestrials suffer from a universal fear that their utopian community will one day be overrun by alien invaders...just like the extra-large astronaut who now stands before them"--from allmovie.com.

Rated 8/10. I don't usually watch animated movies, but I thought this was quite well done. Very imaginative.

I like how all audiences can enjoy this. There were many references that only older folks would understand and appreciate.

Skip It – Planet 51 (2009) 91 min. This CGI animated sci-fi comedy film tries too hard – we have an obnoxious “human” (voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and the typical misunderstood hero (voiced by Justin Long). The planet astronaut Chuck Baker lands on is inhabited by aliens who have mimicked American society of the 1950s down to the bobby socks. Difficult to stay focused on this film despite the many nostalgic references pitched our way.
