Are things more important than people? I don't know. But I DO know that the last 10 minutes of this film are hard to shake off

A Masterpiece; this is Michelangelo Antonioni at his best; the theme is definitely on the surreal style - that's the reason for previous comments.
I watch it over and over again.

Terminally boring! We do not need to focus on a bare wall to be reminded that the scene is depressing. Don't worry about subtitles as the silences are five times as long as the dialogue! A triumph of style over substance...
