I can't believe all the bad reviews. I liked this lol

I never read the books. Regardless, this movie is laughably awful.

A really terrible adaptation that has been disavowed by Le Guin. It captures none of the magic or nuance found in the book series. This never should've existed.

Before watching this be sure to go to Ursula Leguin's website and read her apology to her readers. The script writers either completely ignored the basic scope of Leguin's world, or they accidentally read some other book.

Unfortunately the very best thing to do with the DVD is shread it.

Astonishingly bad. Heartbreakingly bad, if you read any of the original novels and did not completely hate them. You can't even make a good drinking game out of this movie's failings -- you would die of alcohol poisoning in short order. I am actually not a film snob at all, or a crazy fan, but I just can't think of any redeeming qualities of this.

If you read and enjoyed Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea books please don't watch this travesty. I would give it negative stars if I could, it is that bad. No wonder LeGuin was horrified by what Hollywood did to her work. Sadly the studio Ghibli version is almost as bad. Just reread the books instead.
