Widely acclaimed and hotly contested, veteran journalist Eric Alterman's ambitious investigation into the true nature of the U.S. news media touched a nerve and sparked debate across the country. As the question of whose interests the media protects-and how-continues to raise hackles, Alterman's sharp, utterly convincing assessment cuts through the cloud of inflammatory rhetoric, settling the question of liberal bias in the news once and for all. Eye-opening, witty, and thoroughly and solidly researched, What Liberal Media? is required reading for media watchers, and anyone concerned about the potentially dangerous consequences for the future of democracy in America.

TcclUser, as a good liberal you forget you do the same thing. So, it is only wrong when someone else does it, right?

LoL.... you know you've got a winner when you see lots of one star reviews by grumpy conservatives decrying something as "liberal propaganda".

So yeah... read this book if for no other reason than to see what's got them so unhappy . If these conservatives can't control all the media then they will do their best to discourage anything that doesn't fit their political narrative. Jokes on you GOP !!!

These same people give 5 stars to Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy, Glen Beck and claim they are prophets of " The Real Truth"...lol.

Very good points in dismantling an intentional myth.

The vast majority of the media is conservative with some moderates and liberal media decidedly bringing up the rear.

This book would be best read at the same time one read's Jane Mayer's outstanding book, Dark Money - - they are really synergistically entwined.
An event not covered in the book, but validates it perfectly, was the dual instances of a national march which took place during the Bush Administration, each time when warrantless wiretapping was front page news, and each time knocking it off the front page.
I'm referring to the two immigration marches which were organized by Spanish-language radio stations, which were owned by the Blackstone Group [founded by Peter G. Peterson and Stephan Schwartzman - - with Rockefeller money; Peterson a Rockefeller protege, Schwartzman inducted into Yale's Skull & Bones by upperclassman, George W. Bush].
