Comprehensive, useful, and wonderfully down-to-earth with none of the lame humor and condescension you'll find in other such books. This is written for grownups, clearly and in a useful amount of detail.

Found it on the shelves at CPL, not relevant to Canadians. Helpful if you live in Canada but a US citizen and moving back for retirement. What burns my butt is I suggest many titles, point out ones with Canadian content, some are approved…

I found this book to be down-to-earth, practical and easy to understand. My favorite take-away was the calculation beginning on page 15.

Good general advice, specifically tailored to the U.S. market. Many chapters speak directly about choosing a health care insurer, the ROTH (401-K), and the IRA, which are meaningless to a Canadian reader. There are much better and more…

Has useful information for just starting out. You can read just pieces of it to learn more for your particular situation, but you'd miss some good advice.

Based on 401(k)–type account and IRA balances alone, some 92 percent of working households do not meet conservative retirement savings targets for their age and income. Even when counting their entire net worth, 65 percent still fall…
