k2i (Kindergarten to Industry) academy within the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University is excited to be hosting a free STEM Community Programs in partnership with the Markham Public Library (MPL). The program is open to youth in grade 4 to 6.
In this session, participants explore how engineers design shelters to protect people during natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and extreme weather. Participants work in teams to build and test model shelters while learning how engineering helps keep communities safe.
