Description

Join us for an engaging read-aloud of Akemi’s Song by author Joanne Kwok, with interactive elements, a behind-the-scenes look at the story’s inspiration, a Q&A with young readers, and a signing session. We will also be creating our own songs or mini stories inspired by Akemi’s journey on illustrated postcards.

About the Book:

Meet Akemi, a little Flamecrest bird with a
big adventure. She’s been given the honor
of singing her song- but she’s not sure
what story to tell. With her mother’s
encouragement, Akemi sets off across
Taiwan’s breathtaking landscapes, from
lush mountains to shimmering lakes.
Along the way, she discovers courage, a
connection with nature, and the incredible
power of believing in yourself.
