Description

Is your child (ages 6- 10) interested in learning to play chess or would like to improve their chess skills? 

The structure of the program is as follows: 

  • 15- 20 minutes of instruction time (topics of focus: tactics, how to play chess, positional concepts, game analysis) 
  • remainder of the program will be the application for the skills (e.g., playing chess with other participants) 

Please sign up for each session your child is interested in attending the program (each class will focus on a different instructional topic):

  • Jan. 17 (beginner)
  • Feb. 28 (beginner)
  • March 21 (intermediate) 
  • April 25  (intermediate)

** Please note: This program is run by a dedicated high school student who is knowledgeable about chess with a national rating of 1823 and an online rating of 2209.
