Active Living Programs

This program offers a variety of engaging activities designed to support social inclusion and physical well-being, while exploring the benefits of creative therapies for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

Overall Program Goals

  • Promote all dimensions of active living that contribute to overall well-being.

  • Introduce people living with dementia to the benefits of physical and creative activities.

  • Engage participants in artistic outlets that stimulate cognitive function, encourage active participation, and evoke meaningful memories.

  • Provide inclusive and enriching opportunities for social connection.

Session Highlight: Origami for Wellness
This session will introduce participants to the art of origami—transforming simple paper into beautiful creations through folding techniques. Participants will learn how to follow step-by-step instructions to create easy designs such as animals, flowers, and seasonal shapes. This gentle and meditative activity supports fine motor skills, concentration, and creativity in a welcoming, supportive environment. No previous experience is necessary.
